Manufacturers are legally obliged to make and sell products that are safe. But inevitably, mistakes do happen. Sometimes quality control is not what it should be, and products might appear in the shops that could cause you physical harm. Causes
Manufacturers don’t set out to make faulty products, but what with the increase in globalisation, products can nowadays be made anywhere in the world and sometimes product testing is not what it should be. Faulty products usually occur for a number of reasons, including:
- poor manufacturing process;
- flawed design;
- inadequate quality control;
- poor product warnings and customer education;
- damage during transit;
- failure of manufacturers not to issue recall notices if they discover product fault.
