Frequently Asked Questions
Does it cost me to claim?
No. When using our service, we provide the lawyer and their costs will be paid by the other side if you win your case.
If you lose your case, you will not pay the costs of our lawyer, but you might have to pay the costs of the lawyer on the other side.
We operate on a no-win, no-fee agreement, but if you lose, you may have to pay some fees to the other side, but our legal team will take you through this before you start the claim. You can always take out an ‘after-the-event’ insurance, which means you are covered for the other side’s fees, in case you lose. Again, our team will take you through all of this before you start a claim.
How Much Can I Get From a Claim?
This depends on so many things, including the case details and your particular type of injury. But, you can be sure that we pass on 100% of the compensation payment. We take our fees from the other side.
What Happens If I Stop My Claim?
Our team will be very honest with you as to the likely success of your claim. We never make guarantees, but because we have acted on a huge number of similar cases, we tend to know what will have a good chance, or not. If we advise you that at any stage you are unlikely to win, you will not have to pay any cancellation fee.
If you stop a case for another reason, you may some fees to pay, as considerable work might have been carried out on your behalf.
When Do I Get My Compensation Payment?
Compensation payments are usually paid out at the end of a successful claim. But for more serious claims involving major, or long term injuries, then interim payments might be available.
I Don’t Want to Risk Being Sacked
This is a dilemma for many workers; not wanting to cause a fuss at work in case they get sacked making a claim. An employer is legally obliged to offer you adequate protection whilst at work. If you were to be sacked for making a claim, it is likely they would not only attract the attention of the Health & Safety Executive, but be liable for an unfair dismissal claim.
And also bear in mind that say your injury was caused by a faulty machine and that machine was not fixed because you didn’t claim, how would you feel if someone else was injured?
What If My Accident Happened Whilst I Was Abroad?
Making a claim for an accident which happened abroad can be more complicated. If you’re holiday was part of a U.K. tour package, then matters are less complicated, because your tour operator has a duty to ensure your safety. But, anyway, talk to our team who will be able to guide you in such matters.
How Much Work Will I Have To Do?
Our team is there to help and guide you, and that doesn’t mean giving you reams of paperwork. You will be asked to have a look at forms and sign where necessary, but we are there to take the burden from you.
It’s even doubtful whether you will have to visit us. Most things are dealt with by telephone and email for maximum convenience.
Do I Need to Meet the People I’m Claiming Against?
Rarely will you have anything to do with other side, as our lawyers take care of that for you. Always remember that our legal team is there to take the stress from you and ensure your claim goes through without a hitch.
Will I Have To Go Into Court?
Most cases of these kinds are settled out of court, way before any thought of a court hearing is considered. But our legal team is there to advise you on all such matters.
Will I Need A Medical?
Yes, more than likely you will need a medical to assess the level of your personal, or mental injury. We will take care of this for you and the costs are usually paid for by the insurer.
